Almond Blossom in Capay

I’ve lived in California for over 14 years and had no idea about almond blossoms—or how beautiful they are! I didn’t even know almonds have flowers and grow on trees. Whattttt?? I’ve been missing cherry blossom season in Japan, but I think I’ve found the perfect substitute. And the best part? They’re not even that far from the Bay Area! If you’re in the Bay Area, I highly recommend taking a little trip up north to explore the gorgeous almond blossoms in Capay. Timing depends on the year, but you can usually catch them from mid-February to mid-March.

While driving through the city of Capay during peak almond blossom season, you’ll see endless rows of stunning blooms right from your window—it’s truly breathtaking. Katya and I had the best time running through the beautiful scenery, and I’m so glad I got to soak it all in! Hope you get to experience it too. And now that I’m pregnant, I couldn’t resist sneaking in a couple of maternity shots with all that beauty around. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy the blossoms again—this time with baby #2 in tow!
