17 May Baby in Bloom

Wearing the dreamiest maternity outfit today! Wondering what makes a “dreamy maternity outfit”? To me, it should be fuss-free, easy to slip on and off, comfortable, functional—and most importantly, it should make you feel pretty. A nap dress checks all those boxes. And as the name suggests, yes, you can nap in it and have a sweet dream 🙂 In fact, I’ve taken a nap in this one, and it’s super comfy. I also wore it on a flight because it’s one of the easiest pieces to throw on, and it doesn’t restrict my growing body—especially helpful when airplane space already feels tight and uncomfortable. Airplane rides can be stressful, but your outfit doesn’t have to be! I’m a big fan of nap dresses and definitely need them in more patterns.

These pictures were taken when I was 22 weeks pregnant, at Filoli, during peak spring bloom. There were tulips everywhere—some at their best, some just past their peak. One of the best things about Filoli is that something is always in bloom. While we were there, the wisteria had just started to flower. It felt like perfect timing to wear this wisteria-patterned nap dress to match the surroundings!

Spring always feels symbolic of new life, and this season reminds me how beautiful it is to create life. Even though I’ve done this once before, I’m still in awe of growing a miracle inside me. I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing shin splints for about a week—it’s the strangest pregnancy symptom I didn’t have the first time around. It’s amazing how different each pregnancy can be. This baby boy is currently measuring in the 49th percentile and growing well. I’ll be getting growth checks every four weeks starting at 20 weeks, all the way until birth, since Katya arrived three weeks early due to IUGR. I’m so grateful for more frequent monitoring this time, as it helps catch any potential issues early—especially since IUGR has a 20% chance of recurring. All I want is a healthy baby at the end of this, and so far, everything seems to be on track!
