28 Jun Poppin’ Belly in the Poppy Field

Umami-kyuryo Park (馬見丘陵公園) is where we took photos in both the poppy and nemophila fields. They were just a 5-minute walk apart and in full bloom when we visited in early May. The park is located in Nara Prefecture and is pretty big — it even has a huge playground area for kids! No matter what season you visit, there’s always something blooming. So, if you’re already traveling to Nara, I definitely recommend stretching your legs and spending a lovely day here. It’s a super family-friendly park, and kids will have a great time playing!

As for this photoshoot, I’m so glad we took some pictures in the poppy field — even though I originally only planned to shoot in the nemophila field. They turned out so vibrant and pretty! When these were taken, I was 26 weeks pregnant, and my belly was growing more visibly each week. I’m really happy we documented this part of the second trimester — especially the shot of Katya kissing my belly! That one’s definitely getting framed.Do you like taking pictures with flowers too? If so, what flower would be your dream backdrop?
