New Wallet, New Trip!

I am not even sure if to say “I got a new wallet” is even appropriate as I didn’t have any for at least 8 years. I just carried my cards as have been in my bag for a loooong time haha. I thought that I was okay not having a wallet or getting just a card folder in the next few years would be sufficient. However, when the Japan trip was approaching, I realized I definitely needed a coin purse for the cash I had to carry for the train ride and other stuff.

I didn’t have any idea where I would want to get the wallet from as I was out of the market for so long.  The last time I had a wallet was when I was 19. I was for sure poor, so I used my parents’ credit card to get a Prada wallet when I traveled to New York. Of course, I had to pay it back but without interest. Thanks mom 😉 I had a long nude colored wallet which worked for a few years as I had big bags, but I knew it wouldn’t work now since most of my bags are tiny. The wallet was also smooth leather, so that I got some water stains toward the end of its life. So, I knew I wanted to go for a wallet that is small, durable and more stain-resistant leather with slots for cards and cash.

3 days before I left for Japan, I went to Westfield Valley Fair mall to visit 2 places, Salvatore Ferragamo and Prada. I went to Ferragamo first to look for a wallet with a Vera bow, because how could a bow fail? Unfortunately, they didn’t have any wallets with a bow in the current season, so I moved onto Prada. It was a very easy choice once I got into Prada. I knew I wanted to stick to a neutral color, that black was a no-brainer. This wallet with saffiano leather is hardwearing and very functional as it has 6 card slots, a paper cash slot, and a zipper compartment for coins. I have used it for a few days already and I am not sure how I survived without a wallet for so long; now I cannot live without it. It is compact enough to fit into all my small bags and, thanks to this wallet, my coins stay in place, so no turning my bag upside down to buy a train ticket. If you don’t have a functional wallet, then get this one! You won’t regret it!
